The Tornado, Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park's newest 4.5-story tube ride, is ready to roll, just in time for summer's peak. Four people can ride together down the funnel-like tube, which cost about $2 million to install. It's included in park admission; full price is $37.99, but check the Web site and big-box clubs for promotions; 674-9283 or www.hawaiianwaters.com.

FRAME THOSE PEEPERS
GLASSES CAN BE CHIC, NOT STODGY
It seems a little counterintuitive, but thicker frames are a way to look younger, says "How Not to Look Old" author Charla Krupp. Some tips: Black frames are too severe? Soften them by picking beige, green or purple. Steer clear of rimless or round, Harry Potter-type frames. Upturned frames, such as cat's eye, draw attention upward and accentuate the cheekbones, which give a visual lift.

FINAL WORD
"Anne was the first person to come in and do a screen test. ... And after she walked out of the room, we all looked at each other and knew it. It was almost as if everyone else could have gone home at that point."
