Hina Mauka addition will increase client capacity
Hina Mauka last week unveiled its new building that will allow the substance abuse center to increase the services it offers, with space for nine new counseling offices and a group-meeting/conference room with teleconferencing capabilities.
The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Annex was financed through a $2 million city Community Development Block Grant and with a $480,000 grant from the Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Foundation.
With 30 to 40 people on a wait list at any time, the building will allow the center to increase its treatment capacity by 10 percent, or 150 people a year, said Alan Johnson, Hina Mauka CEO.
