IRVING, Texas — Dallas Cowboys defensive end Chris Canty signed a $2 million restricted free agent tender today.

Canty, a fourth-round draft pick in 2005, had a career-best 46 tackles while starting all 16 games last season. He has started 34 of 48 regular-season games in Dallas and has 133 tackles.

While he didn't sign until Wednesday, Canty hasn't missed any offseason work. He has taken part in optional workouts the past four weeks.
