Cyd Okino, who just completed her freshman year at Punahou School, qualified for the U.S. Women's Open at yesterday's sectional at Turtle Bay Palmer Course.

Okino opened with a 75 in the morning and shot a career-low 67 in the afternoon for a 36-hole total of 2-under-par 143.

Margarita Ramos, who will play golf for Arizona State in the fall, is the first alternate after shooting consectuive 78s to finish 14 back. Anna Jang, who won the state high school championship last year with Punahou, shot 81-76 and was a shot behind Ramos.
