A Moloka'i brushfire which burned two acres in Kaluakoi and came within 150 feet of a home today was extinguished at 7:25 p.m.
The fire started at 3:30 p.m. and did not damage the threatened home. No injuries were reported.
"Equipment being used by a contractor building a fence in the area sparked the fire," said fire Capt. Travis Tancayo of the Ho'olehua station.
Two fire engine companies and a water tanker fought the fire, which was fanned by 25 mile per hour winds and tall grass.
