Fire officials suspect arson in a blaze early today at an unoccupied house on Kamahele Street in the Enchanted Lake area of Kailua.

No one was injured.

Initially listed as an electrical fire, fire officials this afternoon said it had been intentionally set.

"Basically, the cause of the fire was intentional, not electrical, as reported earlier," said HFD Capt. Robert Main. Damage to the structure was $40,000 and damage to contents was $5,000, he said.

Fire crews were sent out just before 5:40 a.m. to the single-family dwelling in the 1000 block of Kamahele Street.

Main said 18 firefighters, three engines, one ladder, and one battalion chief responded to the fire.
