Advertiser Staff
The Hawaiian Humane Society will mark "Love a Cat" month this Sunday by offering feline owners lifetime microchip IDs for a flat rate of $5.
The identification chips will be available 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m at the Humane Society's library, 2700 Wai'alae Ave.
All cats must be brought in a secure kennel or pet carrier to the Humane Society's Library.
According to the Humane Society, last year 691 O'ahu cats were reunited with their owners thanks to microchip IDs. Pet registration in the O'ahu microchip database is a free service provided by the Hawaiian Humane Society. Pet owners who have moved or changed phone numbers since their animal was first chipped should update their information. Update forms are available at the Humane Society.
