Fire rescue specialists today brought down two stranded teenage hikers from a mountainside in Wai'anae.
The specialists rappelled down from a helicopter and set up the boys, ages 16 and 17, for transport on a canvas-sling seat called a "rescue diaper," HFD Spokesman Capt. Terry Seelig said.
The operation near the Wai'anae Coast Comphrehensive Heath Center started at 2:02 p.m. and was completed by 3 p.m.
The hikers were not injured, said Seelig.
