For those who may have been looking elsewhere, the Brigham Young-Hawai'i women's tennis team was good this year — very, very good.

The latest evidence: The Seasiders (28-1) placed all six of their top singles players as well as their top three doubles teams on the All-Pacific West Conference teams.

Elwen Li, Maggie Deng, Ramona Husaru and Becky Lu were each named to the first singles team; Jenny Chin and Ayako Ikeda were second-team selections.

Li (34-0) was the No. 1 ranked singles player in the country. Deng ranked No. 4 nationally with a 28-2 record (with one loss coming at the hands of Li).

Li and Deng, and Husaru and Lu were also named to the first team in the doubles division; Chin and Ayako were selected for the second team.

Li and Deng were the No. 1 ranked team in the country and won the ITA NCAA II doubles title in the fall.

BYUH's dominance left precious few openings on the all-conference teams — all of which were filled by players from other Hawai'i teams.

The first-team singles list was rounded out by Eve Castaing of Hawai'i-Hilo and Nina Mihova of Hawai'i Pacific. HPU's Anastasia Ageychik and Ingred Cseh, and Hawai'i-Hilo's Nicole Campbell and Christie Pagatpatan completed the second team.

Castaing and Pagatpatan were also named to the first doubles team. The second doubles team included HPU's Ageychik and Mihova, Cseh and Lauren Shin, and Elena Hudzikova and Tinka Mihova.

BYUH head coach David Porter automatically earned Coach of the Year honors when the Seasiders won the conference championship.
