The University of Hawai'i football team today received a verbal commitment from one of the top linebackers in Nevada.
T.J. Alofipo, who will be a senior at Silverado High School in Las Vegas, told The Advertiser he has accepted a 2009 scholarship.
Alofipo is 6 feet 2 and 235 pounds.
As a junior last season, he had 66 tackles, including 11.5 sacks.
He also received scholarship offers from Arizona, Fresno State, Colorado Stae, Brigham Young and Nevada-Las Vegas.
He is UH's fourth 2009 commitment, following wideout Billy Ray Stutzmann of Saint Louis School, quarterback Corey Nielsen of Gahr High School in California, and defensive end Kimo Makaula of Punahou School.
