5 DUI repeaters among 11 arrested in Honolulu

Honolulu police charged 11 motorists with drunken driving in a five-hour period from 9:15 p.m. yesterday to 2:15 a.m. today, including five repeat offenders.
Todd Shannon Lawrence, 40, of a University Avenue address, posted $1,000 bail as a repeat offender for operating a vehicle under the influence of an intoxicant plus an additional $1,000 for driving while his license is suspended for a prior DUI offense, and $1,250 more for two outstanding warrants. Lawrence was arrested at Seaside Avenue and Aloha Drive in Waikiki at 10:50 p.m. yesterday.
Lawrence's appearance is scheduled Aug. 27 at Honolulu District Court.
Other repeaters charged were Guy Nakanishi, 52; Joey Palemia, 24; Pak Sun Sun Chei, 40, and Setcar J. Jareth, 44.
Police also charged 19-year-old Keenan S. Tydingco for being an under-age drunken driver and excessive speeding. Tydingco has an Aug. 28 appearance scheduled at Kane'ohe District Court.
