Tennis: Szavay, Pin advance at Nordic Light Open

STOCKHOLM, Sweden — Second-seeded Agnes Szavay of Hungary beat Yanina Wickmayer of Belgium 7-5, 7-6 (2) today in the first round of the Nordic Light Open.
Camille Pin of France upset No. 7 Kateryna Bondarenko of Ukraine 6-4, 7-6 (3), while Emma Laine of Finland also advanced, beating Alexandra Panova of Russia 6-1, 6-3.
Pin improved to 3-0 against Bondarenko, who struggled with unforced errors.
"She is very talented and good," Pin said. "But her style of play seems to suit me."
In other action at Stockholm's Olympic Stadium, Iveta Benesova of the Czech Republic beat Tatiana Perebiynis of Ukraine 6-2, 6-2.
