Housekeeper accused of stealing from Oahu woman, 95

A 44-year-old woman was charged today in a 61-count indictment related to the alleged theft of more than $24,000 from her elderly Windward O'ahu employer.
Noreen Lehuanani Joaquin, 44, of Kahalu'u was employed as a housekeeper by Dorothy Kirk Frederick, 95, of Kailua from November 2006 through December 2007 when she allegedly forged and cashed 59 checks on Frederick's account. Joaquin is accused of one count of identity theft and one count of first-degree theft in addition to 59 counts of second-degree forgery.
A $75,000 warrant was issued today for Joaquin's arrest.
Joaquin was arrested April 9 by police investigating the case but was released pending further investigation after being booked.
