Olympics: Greek boxer fails doping test

ATHENS, Greece — An unidentified boxer on Greece's Olympic team tested positive in the latest drug scandal for Greek sports leading to the Beijing Games.
The athlete's name and disciplinary measures were not announced pending the result of tests on a backup sample from the athlete, the Greek Boxing Federation said.
The federation said it had been forwarded the test results by the domestic anti-doping agency, ESKAN. The federation statement gave no detail about the banned substance or when the test was conducted.
Earlier this week, the Greek Olympic Committee announced a three-member team would represent Greece in boxing at the Beijing Games.
Greek sports have been troubled by several doping scandals since 2004. Last month, 11 Greek weightlifters were suspended for two years after testing positive for a steroid. Four other lifters made the Olympic team.
