Kailua pedestrian victim was Hilo man

The Honolulu Medical Examiner's office today identified the pedestrian who died yesterday after being critically injured Friday night in Kailua as Brandon Anderson, 27, of Hilo.
An autopsy is scheduled tomorrow.
Anderson died yesterday at The Queen's Medical Center at 10:25 a.m.
Police vehicular homicide investigator Sgt. John Agno said the pedestrian was struck by a Ford van, driven by an 87-year-old Kane'ohe man, at the intersection of Kailua Road and Uluoa Street at 9:09 p.m.
The pedestrian was in a marked crosswalk and suffered injuries to his head and torso, Agno said. The motorist was not injured.
The fatality is O'ahu's 25th of 2008 and eighth since June 5. Pedestrians have accounted for eight of the 25 victims.
