Three people, all drivers of their vehicles, were taken to The Queen's Medical Center following a four-car accident on Waimano Home Road in Pearl City yesterday morning.

The accident, near Komo Mai Drive, was reported shortly before 7 a.m.

A man in his late 30s was partially ejected from the Jeep he was driving and is listed in serious condition, said Bryan Cheplic, Emergency Service spokesman.

Drivers of two other cars, a man and a woman both in their 40s, were taken to Queen's in stable condition.

DRUGS SEIZED BY BIG ISLAND SCHOOL

HILO, Hawai'i — Big Island vice officers raided a home next to Waiakewaena Elementary School in Hilo Friday and seized pills, cocaine and marijuana.

Police served a search warrant on the home in the 2400 block of Kilauea Avenue at 5:30 p.m. and seized nearly an ounce of cocaine, nearly three ounces of dried marijuana and 448 prescription pills, most of which were Oxycodone and Hydrocodone, police said.

Police also found an electric stun gun and a .22-caliber pistol, and seized $1,111 in cash.

Six men at the home were arrested, and two were charged with drug and firearm violations. They are brothers Wailani Kenui, 23, and Kalani Kenui, 31.

Wailani Kenui was charged with the offense of promoting a controlled substance near schools or public parks under a law that makes it a felony to distribute drugs within 750 feet of a school or public park.

MURDER-ATTEMPT SUSPECT RELEASED

A 20-year-old Waipahu man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder for allegedly twice driving a pickup truck at a man in Wahiawa was released Sunday night pending further investigation after being questioned by police.

The 47-year-old male complainant was not injured. The incident on Cypress Avenue was reported to police at 7:55 p.m. Sunday.

WORK FURLOUGH ESCAPEE GIVES UP

An escapee from the Laumaka Work Furlough Program voluntarily surrendered to police yesterday at the Kalihi station.

Harry Bert Loughmiller Jr., 32, was booked on suspicion of second-degree escape. Loughmiller failed to return to the facility and was classified as an escapee Saturday.

BIG ISLAND GETS WIND ADVISORY

The National Weather Service yesterday issued a high-wind advisory for the Big Island.

Forecaster Derek Wroe said gusts up to 50 mph were expected last night in Kohala, South Point and Ka'u.

The rest of the state can expect breezy conditions with 15 to 25 mph winds and occasional gusts up to 35 mph through Friday, Wroe said.
