Convention site marketing lauded
Advertiser Staff
A survey conducted on behalf of the Hawai'i Convention Center gave Hawai'i high marks as a choice for a vacation destination and convention site.
The METROPOLL XIII survey released this week credited part of that success to the Hawai'i Convention Center's marketing.
Hawai'i ranked in the top 10 among 40 destinations surveyed.
"Hawai'i has maintained its reputation for good meeting facilities," said Kansas-based marketing consultant Gerard Murphy.
Marketing activities included trade-publication ads, calls from the convention center's sales staff, and trade booth and Web site visits.
Hawai'i's Internet advertising is also strong, ranking sixth on both Web site visits and among those who viewed Internet ads.
