Motorists traveling along Farrington Highway in the Makaha area are being asked by the state Department of Transportation to drive with caution throughout the week.

Starting this morning and continuing through Friday, there will be single lane closures in both directions between Ala Akau Street and Lawaia Street in Makaha, according to the DOT. The closures will run between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, weather permitting, to do drilling and trenching for manhole and waterline installations.

The DOT advises motorists to allow for extra travel time while the work is being done.
