Free conference on marriage

Bill and Nancie Carmichael are offering a free, two-day marriage conference March 7-8 at Waialae Baptist Church, 1047 21st Ave.
The Carmichaels are founding publishers of Good Family Magazines, which includes Christian Parenting Today, Virtue, and Parents of Teenagers magazines, with a combined readership of more than 1 million.

PEACE EVENTS ON LEAP YEAR DAY
Leap Year Day peace events are scheduled for Feb. 29 at the Honpa Hongwanji state headquarters.
"A Gathering to Affirm Peace" begins at 6 p.m. at the headquarters, 1727 Pali Highway. It includes dinner and songs of peace by Keith and Carmen Haugen. It's sponsored by the Interfaith Alliance of Hawai'i, Hawai'i People's Fund, Americans for Democratic Action, American Friends Service Committee, Honolulu Friends Meeting, United Nations Association, Hawai'i Division and Veterans for Peace.

FREE SACRED CHORAL CONCERT
Cathedral Church of Saint Andrew, Honolulu, hosts a free sacred choral concert, "The Three Sopranos," at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 24.
The Three Sopranos of Schola Cantorum San Francisco perform music of Couperin, Duruflé, Britten and others. Schola Cantorum San Francisco, was founded in 1998 by the St. Andrew's Cathedral director of music, John Renke.

EVENTS PROMOTE PEACE IN HOMES
The Domestic Violence Action Center presents "Voices of Men: Creating Peace in Our Homes and Communities."
The first of the free two-day events is a Ben Atherton-Zeman performance of his one-man play at 6 p.m. Friday at Tenney Theatre. A community dialogue session will be from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 23, with the Rev. Al Miles and Julie Owens.
Both events include free meals (pupus at a reception preceding Friday's event, continental breakfast and lunch a the second).
