Waipahu Street has been shut down in both directions between Mokuola and Paiwa following an early-morning accident where a vehicle hit a power pole and left the scene.

Police said a Hawaiian Electric trouble-shooting crew is on the scene. When the pole was damaged it left the power line dangling.

The accident occurred shortly after 2 a.m.
