Maui County will celebrate The Year of the Rat with a traditional Chinese lion dance at 9:30 a.m. today on the front lawn of Kalana O Maui, the county building on High Street.

The Chinese New Year celebration will feature Au's Shaolin Arts Society, whose members will perform the dance and a martial arts demonstration.

Before the public appearance, the troupe will perform prior to the start of the Maui County Council meeting on the eighth floor of Kalana O Maui.
