Gatorade honor to HBA's Palmer

Sarah Palmer of Hawai'i Baptist Academy has been named the 2008-09 Gatorade Hawai'i girls volleyball player of the year.
The award recognizes athletic excellence, academic achievement and exemplary character on and off the court.
The 5-foot-11 junior outside hitter recorded 217 kills and 119 digs this season for the Eagles (19-2), leading them to their second consecutive Division II state title.
Palmer, who has a 3.44 GPA, has verbally committed to the University of Texas for the fall of 2010.
Palmer is now a finalist for the Gatorade National Volleyball Player of the Year award.
