Florida's Kelly Slater added yet another memorable chapter to his illustrious career by winning the Billabong Pipeline Masters surfing contest today.

The final day of the three-day contest was run in wave-face heights that were in the 10- to 18-foot range at the Banzai Pipeline.

It was the record sixth Pipeline Masters championship for Slater.

He defeated California's Chris Ward in the one-on-one final, 14.0-7.23. Slater received $30,000 for the win.

Slater, 36, had already clinched his record ninth world championship two months ago.

The Pipeline Masters is the third, and final, contest in the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing.

Australia's Joel Parkinson was eliminated in today's fourth round, but still had enough points to clinch the 2008 Triple Crown championship.

Hawai'i surfers Andy Irons, Jamie O'Brien and Kamalei Alexander were all eliminated in the quarterfinals today, and finished in a tie for fifth place.
