Boston Red Sox reliever Hideki Okajima is scheduled to run in Sunday's Honolulu Marathon.
Race spokesman Pat Bigold says it will be Okajima's first marathon. The lefty will wear No. 37, which is his number for the Red Sox.
Okajima, who turns 33 on Christmas Day, is among 23,000 runners entered in the 26.2 mile race with about 60 percent of the field from his native Japan.
Honolulu last year was the third largest marathon in the nation, after New York City and Chicago.
