CHICAGO — The swimming pool for a Chicago Olympics is going to be a temporary facility, and it's getting a new home.
Organizers unveiled on Friday several venue changes they think will make their proposal to host the 2016 Summer Games more attractive. The aquatic center is moving from Douglas Park to Washington Park, near where the Olympic Stadium would be, while beach volleyball, sailing and canoe/kayaking will be in the heart of downtown on Northerly Island.
Track cycling and the BMX course are moving from Northerly Island to Douglas Park.
The International Olympic Committee will choose a 2016 host next October.
