LAS VEGAS — No. 17 BYU is headed for a fourth straight Las Vegas Bowl and will face Arizona in the Dec. 20 game.
Arizona (7-5, 5-4 Pac-10 Conference) is making its first bowl appearance since 1998, when it won the Holiday Bowl. The Wildcats, who rank 16th nationally in scoring, earned the bowl invitation by beating Arizona State on Saturday night.
BYU is looking for a third straight win in the bowl. It beat UCLA 17-16 last year.
The Cougars (10-2, 6-2) finished third in the Mountain West Conference behind Utah and TCU.
BYU and Arizona have never played in a bowl game, but Arizona is 11-9-1 in 21 games against BYU dating back to 1936. BYU won the last meeting, 20-7 in 2007.
