Top high school seniors from Hawai'i, American Samoa and the continental United States have been chosen for the regionally televised, inaugural Hawai'i All-Star Football Classic, Dec. 12, at Aloha Stadium.
This first-ever doubleheader presented by the Hawai'i Union Builders (HUB) Foundation in conjunction with Football University features more than 100 of Hawai'i's top players. The Hawai'i Goodwill Senior Bowl — in its 18th year — will be played at 5 p.m. The new Hawai'i/Polynesia vs. Mainland Bowl will follow around 8.
The games will be televised on FOX West Prime Ticket (which is blacked out in Hawai'i) and in other select regions from around the country and broadcast live locally via radio by Starcomm Radio at AM 1500 and via the internet by Hawaii Digital Sports at www.hawaiidigitalsports.com.
"It has been one of HUB Foundation's proud accomplishments to showcase Hawai'i's all-stars in our long-standing bowl game," Herbert S.K. Kaopua, Chairman of the HUB Foundation, said in a press release.
"And we are proud that this doubleheader will carry on our tradition. It is with excitement that we look forward to show Hawai'i's gridiron talent to a national audience and to have the support from all of our local football fans at Aloha Stadium on game night."
The Hawai'i Goodwill Senior Bowl features many of the best O'ahu Interscholastic Association and Interscholastic League of Honolulu high school seniors.
The Hawai'i/Polynesia-Mainland Bowl will feature 40 of the nation's top prep football players competing against a Hawai'i team composed of 38 players from across the state, three players from American Samoa, and nine Mainland players with Hawai'i ties.
Tickets are available at the Aloha Stadium Box Office and at www.etickethawaii.com. Pre-game tickets are $5 for students (K-12) and seniors (65 and over) and $10 for adults. Game-day tickets cost $10 for students and $15 for adults.
