DE Jason Taylor out 10-14 days with knee sprain

ASHBURN, Va. — Redskins defensive end Jason Taylor is expected to be sidelined 10-14 days with a sprained right knee, putting his availability in doubt for Washington's season opener against the New York Giants on Sept. 4.
Coach Jim Zorn said Taylor underwent an MRI on Sunday and estimated the six-time Pro Bowl pick will be out from 10 to 14 days. The six-time Pro Bowl pick was hurt in a 47-3 preseason loss to the Carolina Panther on Saturday. Initial X-rays taken Saturday night showed no serious damage.
Taylor was acquired in a trade with Miami last month. He was hurt when his leg bent awkwardly after he ended up in the middle of the pile following DeAngelo Williams' 5-yard run midway through the second quarter.
