BEREA, Ohio — Cleveland Browns rookie tight end Martin Rucker will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his knee and miss four to six weeks.

Rucker twisted his knee during practice yesterday. He will have a piece of cartilage removed from the knee on tomorrow, Browns coach Romeo Crennel said today.

The Browns have struggled during training camp with injuries at tight end. But Kellen Winslow (hamstring) and Steve Heiden (knee) returned to team drills this week.

Both Winslow and Heiden are expected to play in the Browns' second preseason game against the New York Giants on Monday night, Crennel said.

The Browns traded their third-round pick in next year's draft to Dallas to get Rucker in the fourth round.

He was a consensus first team All-American in 2007 and set Missouri's reception record with 84 receptions for 834 yards and eight touchdowns. He also set the school career record with 203 receptions.

The Browns are without their top two draft picks — rookie linebacker Beau Bell, also a fourth-round selection, had arthroscopic knee surgery last week.
