Fire damages Mililani townhouses

Advertiser Staff

Two Mililani acres townhouses were damaged Sunday by a fire started by plumbers soldering copper piping, according to the Honolulu Fire Department.

The 2 p.m. fire at 95-324 Kaname'e St. was reported under control at 2:17 p.m., HFD spokesman Capt. Earle Kealoha said. No injuries were reported and damage estimates were not available, Kealoha added.

The plumbers were working on a remodeling project in a vacant townhouse when the fire started inside a double wall and spread to the roof, Kealoha said. An adjoining unit sustained water damage, he added.
