Dodgers set to activate Penny from DL

ST. LOUIS — The Los Angeles Dodgers anticipate reinstating right-hander Brad Penny from the 15-day disabled list tomorrow to start at San Francisco.
Penny has been on the DL since June 17, retroactive to June 15, with right shoulder tendinitis and bursitis. He made his lone rehabilitation start on Sunday for Triple-A Las Vegas, allowing two runs on six hits in four innings.
Penny, 30, won 16 games each of the previous two seasons and was third in the NL Cy Young Award balloting in 2007. This year he's struggled with a 5-9 record and 5.88 ERA in 15 starts.
