    New predator: A komodo dragon debuts at Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay. Thought to be the deadliest of all lizards, the dragon will join a like-minded community at the predator-based aquarium. Since its debut in 2000, Shark Reef Aquarium has acquired more than 2,000 dangerous animals including sharks, crocodiles, sawfish and piranhas. The aquarium is open 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. $15.95, adults, $10.95 ages 5-12; children 4 and under are free. 702-632-4555.

    The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Las Vegas' Nights Without Neon is an all-night-adventure program for all ages beginning Thursday and running through Labor Day:

  • Moonlight Spa. Massage on specific nights selected from the lunar calendar.

  • Midnight at the Oasis. Midnight dining with gourmet food and champagne served in a poolside cabana.

  • Stars and S'Mores. A one-hour viewing of the southern Nevada night sky.

  • Dive-In Movies/Mojitos and Manicures. Family movies are shown poolside while guests watch from pool chairs or floats.

  • Fly by Night. Fish for bass, trout, carp and catfish in Lake Las Vegas in an end-of-day catch-and-release activity. Equipment is provided, and a fishing license is not required.

  • Night at the Beach. A picnic basket for two or more guests on a private lagoon beach, just steps from the resort.

  • Sundown Bike Ride. A three-mile loop around the resort's 10-mile Lake Las Vegas shoreline. Bikes and maps are provided by the resort with one hour of free bicycle use.

  • Kids' Night Out. Children's supervised night of fun includes a special dinner, movies, and arts and crafts from 6 to 9 p.m. or until 11 p.m.

  • Sunrise Yoga. Dawn yoga classes are offered near the resort's waterfall lagoon.
