CBKB: UCLA's Collison decides to return for senior season
Associated Press
LOS ANGELES — UCLA point guard Darren Collison will return to the Bruins for his senior season.
Collison had been projected as a probable first-round pick in the NBA draft, but chose not to follow teammates Kevin Love, Russell Westbrook and Luc Richard Mbah-a-Moute, who all declared themselves eligible for the draft earlier this month.
"I want to give myself the best possible chance to compete at the highest level," Collison told reporters in a conference call Saturday. "I have unfinished business here at UCLA, both in terms of my physical development and the completion of my education."
Collison was a third-team AP All-America selection this season and has gone to three straight Final Fours with the Bruins.
Love, Westbrook and Mbah-a-Moute have not hired agents, and all can still back out of their decision to turn pro.
