A man in his 40s was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in critical condition after being shot and stabbed late Thursday night in the McCully area.

City emergency medical personnel said the man was found near the intersection of Waiola and Manalo streets, makai of Washington Intermediate School.

Paramedics received the call for assistance at 11:09 p.m., said emergency services spokesman Bryan Cheplic.
