Bicyclists to hold mass ride tomorrow from Capitol

Police are asking bicyclists to obey all laws during a planned ride tomorrow that is expected to attract dozens of riders who want to assert cyclists' rights on the road.
Critical Mass, a loose-knit group of bicyclists, plans a ride tomorrow beginning at 5 p.m. at the state Capitol.
Police and the Hawaii Bicycling League said they support the group's intent to draw attention to its cause but stressed that participants should do so within the law.
A participant with Critical Mass today said the group always encourages riders to follow the law.
Last month, a woman was injured during a Critical Mass ride and police said at a news conference this afternoon that they want to avoid the problem tomorrow.
Police are also asking motorists to be patient and give bike riders the courtesy they are entitled to.
