Man arrested in Waianae for shotgun threat

Advertiser Staff

Police today arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with threatening incident involving shotguns in Wai'anae.

The suspect was arrested fronting 86-260 Farringtington Hwy. in Wai'anae at 4:50 p.m. on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening, two counts of reckless endangering and a firearm offense.

Police said the suspect, who gave no local address, armed himself with two shotguns and went to a undisclosed Wai'anae residence of two males who allegedly assaulted his younger brother in school. The man arrived at the residence at 1:04 p.m., fired two rounds in the air and pointed the shotguns at a 26-year-old man.

The suspect left the scene after he could not locate the males he was looking for. He dropped one of the shotguns on the street, which was recovered by police.

Charges are pending.
