The Amy Greenwell Ethnobotanical Garden's spruce of its grounds on the Big Island is seeking volunteers 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. May 3.
There will be weeding, raking and general clean up under the koa and ohia trees in the upland forest section, so volunteers are asked to bring gloves, hat, sunscreen, mosquito lotion, and hand tools.
The Amy B.H. Greenwell Ethnobotanical Garden is a Bishop Museum facility in South Kona on the Mamalahoa Highway. During the year, it draws more than 13,000 visitors exploring the plants of traditional Kona.
