NORTH SHORE
Development plans will be reviewed at meetings

Residents' ideas and desires for future development in the North Shore and Ko'olauloa communities will be discussed at two community meetings this month.

The North Shore Sustainable Communities Plan five-year review process runs from 6:30-9:30 p.m. tonight at the Hale'iwa Elementary School cafeteria, 66-505 Hale'iwa Road.

The Ko'olauloa Sustainable Communities Plan will be reviewed from 6:30-9:30 p.m. April 30 at Hau'ula Elementary School Cafeteria, 54-046 Kamehameha Highway.

The city Department of Planning and Permitting is charged with updating the plans that provide long-range goals and policies intended to guide decisions on land-use and infrastructure, land-use approvals and permitting, and private sector investment.

The Ko'olauloa plan was originally adopted by the City Council in 1999 and the North Shore plan was approved in 2000. The City Charter requires that they be updated every five years.
