Sarah Brook Whitford was indicted yesterday by an O'ahu grand jury for first-degree negligent homicide in connection with a March 2007 accident in which a motorcyclist was killed on Hale'iwa Road.
Whitford was driving a 1992 Subaru Legacy that struck a 2006 Harley-Davidson driven by Valaile Fuiava Jr., 53, of Waialua on March 31 at 10:21 p.m., according to a vehicular homicide media highlight on the case reported by Sgt. John Agno. Fuiava was thrown from his motorcycle and dragged 503 feet before Whitford's car collided with a barrier.
Speed and alcohol were factors in the fatal accident, police said.
A $20,000 arrest warrant stemming from the indictment has been issued for Whitford, who is free on bail.
