Preps: Lanai softball shocks No. 8 Baldwin

LANA'I CITY — Kaila Daniels pitched a shutout and also tripled and scored a run yesterday, and the Lana'i High School softball team sent Baldwin to its second Maui Interscholastic League loss of the season with a 2-0 win.
Daniels tripled in the sixth inning and scored on Nani Zablan's single.
Lana'i (4-5) scored in the second inning on Deana Eskaran's two-out RBI single.
Baldwin, ranked sixth in the Advertiser's top 10 poll and the defending state champion, fell to 7-2.
LAHAINALUNA 12, MOLOKA'I 2, 5 INNINGS
At Kaunakakai, Moloka'i, Ikapela Watson doubled and homered and Tiffany Bonifacio went 3-for-4 as Lahainaluna remained unbeaten and widened its lead in the MIL Division I standings.
Bonifacio also pitched a two hitter as the Lunas improved to 9-0.
Lacey Santiago had a double and RBI for Moloka'i (2-6).

At Kahului, Mykel Love hit a home run and a double to help King Kekaulike improve to 6-3.
Love finished 3-for-3.
Tiana Kauweloa went 4-for-4 with two doubles, and Victoria Pszyk went 2-for-4 with a triple for Maui (4-4).
