"Island Writers," a Maui Arts & Cultural center program at 7:30 p.m. April 18 at McCoy Studio Theater, will assemble three local writers who will read from their works and discuss the challenges of their craft .

Pariticpants are Lee Cataluna, playwright and an Advertiser columnist; Cathy Song, a poet; and Mavis Hara, a short story author.

They will share insights into their creative process and field questions from the audience.
