The newly founded Kapolei Chamber of Commerce will hold its first meeting at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Kapolei Hale Atrium courtyard, 1000 Uluohia St., to officially install its board of directors.
New and expanding businesses in the area are expected to create more than 40,000 jobs by the year 2025, making Kapolei the fastest growing region in Hawai'i, members of the new chamber said.
Recognizing the need to encourage and facilitate this dynamic growth, regional business leaders are joining together to form the Kapolei Chamber of Commerce, the members said.
Keynote speaker at the Monday ceremony, Leroy O. Laney, economic adviser to First Hawaiian Bank, will give a glimpse of "Kapolei's Economic Future."
Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann is scheduled to attend the meeting.
