Successories store closing

The owners of Successories of Hawaii Inc. will be closing its Ward Centre retail location at 6 p.m. Sunday, but will continue to run their operations via the Internet.

Company president Garrett Wheeler said it was the "right time" to leave Successories and concentrate on the family's other company, Po'okela Publishing. Wheeler said Po'okela products can be found on its Web site at www.successhawaii.com.


HOTEL WORKERS VOTE ON UNION

About 300 employees at the Princeville Hotel on Kaua'i yesterday voted on whether they wanted to be represented by a union.

The workers had the choice of selecting the International Longshore and Warehouse Union Local 142 or UNITE HERE Local 5. Employees also could vote on not organizing.


LUCKY JEANS HAS WAIKIKI PLANS

Lucky Brand Jeans plans to open a second Hawai'i store on Friday, in Waikiki at the corner of Saratoga Road and Kalakaua Avenue. The store, featuring jeans and clothing for men, women and children, also operates a shop at Ala Moana Center.


COFFEE FARM REVENUE SLIPS

Hawai'i's coffee farm revenue totaled $37 million in the 2006-07 season, a 1 percent decline from a year earlier, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The drop was primarily the result of production declining by 10 percent while prices rose. The USDA said production decreased 31 percent on the Big Island, but that some of this decline was offset by higher activity elsewhere in the state.
