TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE
"American Masters: Tony Bennett: The Music Never Ends," 9 p.m., PBS. Two eternal stars combine. The subject is Tony Bennett, 81; the producer (and sometimes interviewer) is Clint Eastwood, 77. With rich use of clips, they amble across the decades. Bennett talks warmly of his widowed mother, who raised three children by sewing for a penny a dress. He talks of his Army days, when he sang with a big band and fought racial discrimination. Both would be facets of his life. Bennett joined civil rights protests; he sold 50 million records and won 15 Grammys. It's a great story, skillfully told.
"Last Comic Standing," 8 p.m., NBC. In last week's episode (which reruns at 7 p.m.), Amy Schumer was ousted. Gerry Dee and John Reep had solid comedy sets; Lavell Crawford — who had been terrific the previous week — had a so-so one. Tonight, one will be dropped. The other two have their last chance, before viewers pick a champion.
OF NOTE
"Justin Timberlake: FutureSexLoveShow," 4:30 p.m., HBO. Timberlake performs in Madison Square Garden, backed by a 14-piece band.
"Rescue Me" season finale, 7 p.m., FX. Tommy tries to bond with his difficult dad, joining him at a baseball game and for a roller-coaster ride.
"Decision House" debut, 7 p.m., MyNetwork (KFVE). Here is feel-bad TV, stirring raw emotions as a couple decides whether to divorce; Lynn Toler ("Divorce Court") and Tara Fields ("Intervention") monitor them in a house with 27 cameras. The hour we saw — not, apparently, the one shown tonight — was a disturbing view of a brutal man. Surprisingly, this is produced by Jay McGraw, whose father is more mellow on the "Dr. Phil" show.
"According to Jim," 7 and 7:30 p.m., ABC. In the first rerun, Jim does his wife's chores after her uncle's death — then wonders how long the mourning will last. In the second, he tries to stop Andy from marrying the annoying and newly divorced Cindy Devlin.
"'Til Death," 7 and 7:30 p.m., Fox. In the first rerun, a re-gifted cappuccino maker causes arguments. In the second, Eddie and Jeff really aren't very good at relaxing when school is out and they have the summer off.
"Brown is the New Green: George Lopez and the American Dream," 8 p.m., PBS. This documentary splices a portrait of comedian George Lopez and a variety of views on Latinos in the U.S. It's well-done, but poorly timed. It was shot as Lopez's situation comedy was fading and airs after it was cancelled.
"Deserving Design," 9 p.m., HGTV. Vern Yip, who has been terrific as a "Design Star" judge, launches his own show. The difference is a feel-good approach, doing room makeovers for people who do good and have faced obstacles.
