"Once in a Promised Land" will be the topic of discussion at the Kahuku Public & School Library book club from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. tomorrow in the building's conference room.

The book by Laila Halaby is about Jassim and Salwa, who left the deserts of their native Jordan for those of Arizona to chase opportunity and freedom.

Although the couple live far from Ground Zero, they cannot escape the effects of 9/11.

The program is for adults.
