Presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich will speak at a free public event at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 14 in Maui Community College's Pa'ina Building. His appearance is sponsored by Maui Peace Action, the MCC Peace Club and the Hawai'i Institute for Human Rights.

Earlier in the evening, Kucinich, a Democrat, will speak at a fund-raising dinner to be held at the Waiehu oceanfront estate of Paul Wenner, creator of the Gardenburger. Vegetarian fare will be served at 5 p.m., with the candidate to talk at 6 p.m. The cost is $250 per person, or $400 per couple.
