Road financing subject of talk

The concept of public-private partnerships to construct freeway lanes and other road projects will be discussed at a community meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Asing Park.
The meeting is sponsored by state Rep. Rida Cabanilla, D-42nd (Waipahu, Honouliuli, 'Ewa), who advocates such partnerships to construct projects that may not be feasible for the state to take on, such as elevated reversible express lanes or an underwater tunnel through Pearl Harbor.
A bill before the Legislature would allow such partnerships.
The meeting is one in a series conducted by Cabanilla. For more information, call her office at 586-6080.
