Big Isle fest to spotlight Hawaiian music and hula

Hawaiian music and hula will be showcased at the two-day Malama Punalu'u Culture & Music Festival at Na'alehu Park on the Big Island.
Among the performers: Uncle George Na'ope, below; Hoku Zuttermeister; Brudda Smitty; Darlene Ahuna and others. Among the other attractions: cultural demonstrations, an art show, food, water slide and train rides for keiki and a multimedia exhibit titled "The Punalu'u Experience."
Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and tomorrow. Admission is free. www.malamapunaluu.org.
