The 25th Infantry Division Command group returned to Schofield Barracks via Wheeler Army Airfield yesterday after a 15-month deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
The returning group of about 70 was led by Maj. Gen. Benjamin R. Mixon, its commanding general. Mixon commanded the 23,000-member Multinational Division-North Coalition Force, which included 7,000 Schofield soldiers.
The last of the Schofield troops return today.
During his time in Iraq, Mixon criticized the central Iraqi government, saying that sectarianism hindered the growth of Iraqi police forces.
