The state Department of Land and Natural Resources will hold a public meeting tomorrow on improvements planned for the South Kawaihae Small Boat Harbor.

The meeting on the project and on the draft environmental assessment will be at 5:30 p.m. at the Nutrition Center next to Waimea Senior Center.

The state has $3.5 million for the project, and planned harbor improvements include a 45-foot-wide boat ramp, two boat loading docks and a comfort station. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2009.
